Every Thursday, I will be posting a series of thoughts called "Why I Love Mississippi." You are all invited to attend. Bring the family and a picnic basket, cause it might take a while.

First in the series: My Home is My Castle

In Mississippi, my home is my castle. There are many like it, but this home is mine. In Mississippi, my car is part of my castle. In Mississippi, I am allowed to defend my castle without a license. This means that I can keep a handgun in my home or my car at all times, without telling the state that I have a gun, what kind of gun it is, or where I keep it. This means if someone tries to carjack me, I can shoot them, and it will be a righteous shooting.

In Mississippi, you can get a concealed carry permit by paying a $100 licensing fee and filling out an application. Presuming that you have committed no felonies and are not legally blind, you will be issues a concealed carry permit. In Mississippi, no one can prevent you from carrying your concealed weapon anywhere except in certain government buildings.

In Mississippi, My Home is My Castle. And So Is My Car.
