Another day, another currency unit.

No insight into the human condition gained, although could someone please tell me why both a survey and a lead-based paint inspection cost $500.00?

I am moving into the landed class on May 27th, which is the day that I move into my new house. May 22d is the closing date on the mortgage loan. I am feverishly hoping that the appraiser has appraised the house for less than the contract, which means that I get to renegotiate.

Still, a house. Now I am truly part of the VRWC.

To that end, color me surprised at the news of the Saudi suicide bombers. The feckless history of Saudi anti-terror work is well documented elsewhere; I am fundamentally too lazy to write about something I don't know enough about. Why are we so wedded to the house of Faud?

In other news, the highly anticipated (by the VRWC) game Republic: The Revolution is set for release on June 10, 2003. Thrill to living in a newly-liberated former Soviet republic, as you proclaim power to the people. Learn thuggery in the traditional Soviet way; become a demagogue. Lead your nation to a new birth of freedom!

Finally, the VRWC has what it has always wanted: a Russia 1992 political simulator. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Help me propagate a meme:

Ideas, not ideologies.

Student programs, not student programmers.

Here endeth the meme.

Let us all remember that ideologies after all are rote collections of ideas, manufactured for those who cannot think for themselves. No reasoning faculty is required, when you are beset with ideology. While away your days without questioning authority- submit to Ideology (TM), the other white meat! Ideology (TM) for Men, the new fragrance from Calivin Klein. Just Repeat It- NIKE (TM).
