Prof. Cowen at the Volokh Conspiracy presents an article on Iraqi contracting and US spending.

I especially like Cowen's review of the article, and his conclusion, which invokes David Mamet's favorite maxim: a good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow.

Will Baude wants to know what IU freshman Teen Keira thinks pornography is.

Will, Teen Keira appears to be a student of the classics, and knows that erotic art is not the same as writing about whores, which is what the Greek root of pronography means. She is clearly tweaking your nose with some whimsical wordplay.
Mr. Sandefur says everybody is doing it, so he must as well. the instructions are:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

I have, and here goes:

"The derivative action may not be maintained if it appears that the plaintiff does not fairly and adequately represent the interests of the shareholders or members similarly situated in enforcing the right of the corporation or association."

Mississippi Rules of Court: Federal, 2003, p. 23 (FRCP 23.1). Yeah, so that was exciting.
