The big news of the day is obviously the retirement of Sandra Day O'Connor from the US Supreme Court, effective upon confirmation of a successor.

Regardless of your opinion of her jurisprudence, she's a classy lady and well-respected from her years of public service. I would like to extend my personal thanks for her service to the United States, and I hope she is able to enjoy her well-earned retirement.
